At the Al-Kafeel Hospital.. Successful operation of a young man suffering from complete blockage of liver veins

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital has successfully operated on a young man suffering from a complete blockage of the liver veins.

The specialist in Interventional Radiology, Dr. Ali Mohammed Jalil, said that"a patient in the third decade of life came to the hospital suffering from a complete blockage in the liver veins, which caused him acute pain in the liver and fluid accumulation in a large proportion in the abdomen, in addition to kidney failure."

"The case was very complicated, as the patient tried all the medical treatments assigned to these cases without achieving any significant response, so we formed a medical team with a specialist in general surgery, Dr. Moayed al-Naqib,"he added.

"After a thorough study of the case, the patient underwent a successful operation," Jalil continued, stressing that "the case's response to recovery was rapid, as within a few days the level of intra-abdominal fluid decreased, and the kidneys regained their normal activity."

"The success of the operation was achieved thanks to the availability of modern technologies at Al-Kafeel hospital and continuous cooperation between different medical specialties,"Jalil explained.
