The opening events witnessed the presence of members of the board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its officials, the holy shrines and professors of Al-Kafeel University and its staffs, many official and academic figures, and researchers from inside and outside Iraq.
The conference is held with the participation of the Universities of Toledo and Michigan from the United States, Al-Ameed University and Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital, with the aim of supporting the scientific and research movement and providing a stimulating environment for researchers.
The conference activities began with the reading of verses from the Holy Quran, by the reader Haider Gelokhan, followed by the reading of the Fatiha Surah on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, then listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the Al-Abbas's (p) shrine (the Pride's Melody), followed by a speech to the holy shrine by Dr. Afdhal al-Shami, and a speech to the Ministry of higher education and scientific research, delivered by the president of the University of Kufa, Dr. Alaa al-Mawla, and another to the president of the Al-Kafeel University; Dr. Nawras Al-Dahan.
The launch of the two-day conference witnessed the presentation of the opening lecture by Dr. Zaid Al-Kadhemi from the University of Alabama, and will include the presentation of a number of research across 5 Scientific and medical axes.
The first axis of the conference includes 7 scientific sessions discussing research related to engineering sciences, while the second axis will witness the holding of 10 Scientific Sessions to discuss medical science research, the third will include 3 sessions dealing with research related to the Faculty of Dentistry, the fourth axis will discuss pharmaceutical science research through 5 sessions, while 16 sessions will discuss science research within the fifth axis.
