Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine launches the activities of the al-Siddiq al-Akbar literary award of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him)

The Al-Abbas's(p) holy shrine has launched the activities of the al-Siddiq al-Akbar literary award, dedicated to the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (Peace be upon him).

The events held at the imam al-Hassan (p) Hall witnessed the presence of the deputy secretary general of the holy shrine:Sayed Abbas Musa Ahmed, and the members of its board of Directors; Sayed Laith al-Mousawi, Dr. Abbas al-Deda al-Mousawi, Dr. Afdhal al-Shami, a number of its officials, and a gathering of literary, academic, calligraphers and those interested in literary, cultural and poetic Affairs.

The events began with a fragrant recitation of the verses of the Holy Quran by the reader Laith al-Obeidi, followed by the speech of the preparatory committee delivered by Dr. Mushtaq Al-Ali, in which he confirmed that the scientific committee of the al-Siddiq al-Akbar award received more than 200 works of art from 12 countries, namely: Yemen, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iran, Afghanistan, Tunisia, Nigeria and the host country Iraq.

The event includes a series of literary competitions that are specialized in the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), including (the best author, theatrical script, vertical poetry, literary novel, Arabic calligraphy, and short story), in addition to announcing the winners.

The award aims to encourage writers and creators in the field of literature, promote literary and cultural creativity, in relation to Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib(peace be upon him), clarify his values and philosophy in the participating literary works, and push specialists in literary fields from the elites with a spotless history known for seriousness and sobriety, to participate in competitions held by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, including the competition of the al-Siddiq al-Akbar.
