The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine holds the fifth annual Aqeela Festival at the University of Kirkuk

The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held the fifth edition of the annual Aqeela (peace be upon her) festival at the University of Kirkuk.

The festival was organized under the slogan (chastity and jihad), as part of the Al-Kafeel National Youth project of the Department of Public Relations at the holy shrine, and was held in cooperation with the University of Kirkuk; to commemorate the death anniversary of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her).

The activities of the festival began with the reading of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the reading of the Fatiha Surah on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, then listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine (the melody of Pride), followed by the speech of the University of Kirkuk, and the speech to the Holy Shrine, delivered by Mr. Mohammed Abdullah al-Mousawi.

The festival's activities included a discussion of academic research on the jihad of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her), by researcher Qanbar al-Mousawi, along with a poetic paragraph by poet Zaki al-Damerji.
The events witnessed the honoring of the festival participants and university female students wearing the Islamic abaya.

The Al-Abbas's (p) hrine is keen to organize activities, events and festivals within Iraqi universities to commemorate the occasions of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and strengthen the students ' attachment to their sound approach.
