The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine concluded the activities of the first day of the seventh annual ceremony to honor Iraqi abaya-wearing students at universities in the province of Babylon.
The ceremony was organized by the public relations department at the holy shrine, under the slogan (the abaya is chastity and jihad), within the framework of the Al-Kafeel National Youth project, in cooperation with the Office of the Senior Official for women's affairs, in conjunction with the anniversary of the Blessed Sha'ban birth anniversaries.
The ceremony will be held for three days in the Sheikh al-Kulayni complex, with the participation of more than 2000 students from the Universities of Babylon, Al-Qasim Al-Khadra, Hilla, the future and the colleges of Imam Al-Kadhem (peace be upon him) and of open education.
The first day's activities witnessed the presence of the secretary general of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortada Aal Dia-Uddin, his deputy; Mr. Abbas Musa Ahmad, a member of its board of Directors; Dr. Abbas al-Deda al-Mousawi, the director of the Office of its Senior Official; Sayed Jawad Al-Hasnawi, a number of its officials, academic and religious figures and the families of the celebrated female students.
The ceremony included several paragraphs, including an orientation speech to the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered by Sheikh Harith al-Dahi, in which he praised the role of female university students in maintaining chastity and modesty, stressing that wearing the Iraqi abaya reflects commitment to the lofty Islamic principles.
He also included a speech to the Universities of the province of Babylon delivered by the president of the University of Babylon, Dr. Amin al-Yasiri.
The activities of the first day included a speech for the participating students, delivered by student Zeinab Hussein Abdul Ali, in which she stressed that " the Iraqi abaya is a shield that fortifies the religion of women and protects their faith away from the suspicions of adornment."،
The ceremony also included a poem by the poet Ali Al-Saffar, in addition to the screening of a film entitled (The Abaya is chastity and jihad), and honoring the students memorizing the Holy Quran and wearing the Iraqi abaya.
The activities of the first day concluded with the honoring of the secretary general of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortada Aal Dia-Uddin, the students of the Universities of Babylon memorizers of the Holy Quran, as well as honoring the students participating in the ceremony.
The Iraqi Abayas that were distributed to the female students were sewn in the workshop of Lady Amenah (peace be upon her) of the Al-Afaf Women Shopping Center.
