The announcement of the establishment of the Festival of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) in its eighth edition.

The Deputy Head of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Sayed. Aqeel Abd Al-Hussayn Al-Yassiri announced the launch date of the Festival of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) in its eighth edition, which is hosted by the people of the city of Al-Hilla "the city of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him)" under the auspices of the holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), as the festival is held every year in the city of Hilla in the center of Babel province to celebrate the birth anniversary of the second of the Mohammadian lights, Imam Al-Hassan son of Ali (peace be upon both of them) in the fifteenth of the holy month of Ramadan, for the period between the 14th to the 16th of this blessed month.

He added: "The festival which will be held under the slogan "Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) the pride of the believers and the beacon of the Mujahideen", is one of the festivals that the holy shrine gives great importance, celebrating an important occasion which is the birth anniversary of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him), trying through these cultural events to highlight the aspects of this outstanding personality, that we believe wasn't given the desired image in the history commensurate with its greatness and its position to the Messenger of Allah (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) and in the Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them)."

Sayed. Al-Yassiri explained: "This year, the festival will include many events, starting with the opening ceremony interventions and poems, as well as the raise of the banner of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him), in addition to academic and hawza research sessions, exhibitions of plastic art, calligraphy and ornamentation, and also Quranic and poem evenings as well as other surprises. There will be also an intellectual contest focused on the personality, thought and approach of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him), which prizes are with great value."

It is noteworthy that this festival is held annually in conjunction with the auspicious birth of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) in the middle of the holy month of Ramadan, and aims to demonstrate the missionary role led by the Imam (peace be upon him), in addition to clarifying his attitudes toward the oppressing governing authority of Mu'awiyah, highlighting the problems and pressures faced by the Imam (peace be upon him) in his life, and mentioning some of the guiding commandments and educational conversations of the Imam (peace be upon him) about the morality virtues and the secrets of worship, as well as working to embody his educational values, disseminating the humanitarian meanings that characterized his personality (peace be upon him), in line with the aspirations and visions of the modern society.
