Within its activities for the month of Ramadan: The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine sets up a daily evening for the recitation of the Quran [khatmah]..

There have been many narrations that urge to read the Holy Quran during the month of ramadan, including the narration from Abu Ja'far (peace be upon him) who said: "Everything has a spring and the spring of the Quran is the month of Ramadan." Subsequently, there is a close relationship and a solid bond between the Quran and the holy month of Ramadan, and the words of the Almighty God come to confirm it: {The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion.} (2:185)

From this standpoint and within the events and activities of the holy month of Ramadan set up by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine represented by the Institute of the Holy Quran, is the recitation of one chapter from the holy Quran daily during afternoons.
The Director of the Institute of the Holy Quran; Sheikh Jawad Al-Nasrawi explained to the Al-Kafeel Network: "This Quranic daily ceremony has many goals, such as the reward of reading the holy Quran during the month of Ramadan and learning the right recitation with the presence of experienced Quran readers in this event, in addition to the creation of additional spiritual atmosphere at the courtyard of our master Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), in a beautiful scene linking the holy Quran and Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them). This ceremony is dedicated to the recitation of one chapter per day in a sequential manner between readers (almost one hour) and will continue throughout the days of the holy month to finish the whole Quran [khatmah]."
Adding: "There are five readers from Karbala and other provinces participating by turn in the recitation, who were selected through a test of recitation by a committee of three teachers in recitation, voice, sound and recitations rules. These readers were selected thanks to their high marks and their beautiful voices. noting that they were 46 readers who passed this test and only 13 were chosen while others are originally the readers of the two holy shrines."

It is noteworthy that this [khatmah] comes in the context of the pursuit of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for the dissemination and the rooting of the Quranic culture and for creating during the holy month, which is the spring of the holy Quran, a spiritual and reverence atmosphere with its blessed recitation.
