A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital has successfully performed reconstructive surgery on a patient suffering from a structural difference in the bones of the skull and face.
The specialist of Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Radwan al-Taie, said:"the medical team successfully performed a reconstructive surgery on an 18-year-old patient from Karbala governorate, suffering from a structural difference in the bones of the skull and face, as the radiological examinations showed a descent in the upper jaw, a return in the lower jaw, a deviation in the nasal septum and an enlargement of the nasal cavities."
"After a thorough case study, an advanced orthodontic operation was performed on the patient, including surgical intervention of the upper jaw, modification of the nasal septum and nasal cavities, raising the upper jaw by reducing the length of the bone, reducing the lower jaw and adjusting the palate area,"he added.
"All these procedures were carried out in one operation, thanks to the availability of advanced technologies and the specialized medical team at the Center for brain and facial surgery at Al-Kafeel hospital,"al-Taie explained.
