"The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine was, and still is, a haven for Iraqi unity, under its dome, as there is no difference between an Arab, a Kurd and a Turkmen, all of whom meet in the name of Iraq,"Khalid said in his speech.
He added that"the ceremony aims to link the scientific graduation process with the spirit of the message of faith, because when a university degree is blessed in one of God's houses, it carries double responsibilities: the responsibility of Science and ethics".
The opening events included the presentation of a play (gratitude for the beautiful), presented by the Al-Kafeel Scout Association of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, which discussed the importance of study and its role in fulfilling the blood of the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the homeland and the future of its children, as well as the role of students by giving gratitude to the martyrs through diligence in their studies and their excellence in it.
The ceremony witnessed the presentation of a scientific questionnaire on the most important contemporary youth problems, presented by Dr. Karar Sahib from the Al-Kafeel Center for Statistics and studies, and an awareness-raising dialogue session for the participants, presented by the assistant head of the media department; Mr. Jassam al-Saidi, on skills and information, how to develop each student in his field of study, the topic of cultural identity, its elements and basic concepts, indicating the intellectual attacks to which the country is exposed, and how to deal with sources of information on social networking sites.
