The Supreme Religious Authority announced Saturday as the first day of Eid Al-Fitr

The Supreme Religious Authority, Sayed Ali Al-Husayni Al-Sistani announced Saturday 18th of July 2015 corresponding to the first of Shawwal 1436 AH as the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.
The office stated:" The sighting of the crescent moon of the blessed month of Shawwal has been proven on the Friday corresponding to the 29th of the month of Ramadan 1436 AH, and according to this the office of His Eminence announces that the Eid Al-Fitr will correspond to Saturday the 1st of Shawwal 1436 AH. Congratulations to all Muslims, may God bless them and accept all their good deeds during the holy month."
The holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) have announced the proven legitimate sighting of the crescent moon of Shawwal 1436 AH.
