Al-Ameed university holds its annual innovation and creativity exhibition in its second edition

Al-Ameed University held its annual innovation and creativity exhibition in its second edition in conjunction with the World Intellectual Property Week.

The university is holding the exhibition under the slogan (intellectual property and sustainable development goals: building our common future through innovation and creativity), in cooperation with the light Harvest Foundation for the development of education, and the standardization and Quality Control Authority at the Ministry of planning.

The opening of the exhibition witnessed the presence of the chairman of the Higher Education Authority at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Dr. Abbas al-Deda al-Mousawi, in addition to a group of innovators and researchers from various universities and institutions.

The rector of the University, Dr. Jawdat Nouri al-Jash'ami, said:"this exhibition comes within the University's interest in encouraging creativity and innovation, considering that scientific research is one of the main pillars in educational institutions, and an effective tool to support innovation and turn it into an actual service."

He added that"the exhibition included the presentation of a set of patents in multiple disciplines and fields, and we noticed the existence of inventions that rise to high levels and deserve care to turn into realistic projects that contribute to serving society and solving its problems".

He explained that "the University seeks to continue organizing events that support creative people, as one of its most prominent future projects is the development of the Al-Ameed Center for creativity and innovation, which will include medical specialties, in addition to fields in Basic Sciences, which is a qualitative step towards promoting innovation within the University".

For his part, the director of the Directorate of patents and industrial designs, Dr. Mohammed Jamal, said: "this exhibition is a celebration of intellectual property and represents a qualitative leap in enhancing understanding with the scientific organization of intellectual property (WIPO)."

Jamal stressed that " Iraq is strongly approaching the revival of the World Intellectual Property Day; in order to protect intellectual rights," thanking the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for its support of efforts to combat the violation of property rights in Iraq.
