The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine honored more than 650 female students wearing the Zainabi Abaya at al-Mustansiriya University.
This came within the activities of the Shaza al-Esma Festival organized by the university student association, under the auspices of the holy shrine represented by the Departments of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs and Public Relations, and in cooperation with Mustansiriya University, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lady Fatima al-Ma'soomah (peace be upon her).
The head of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs; Sayed Aqeel al-Yasiri, said: "the festival witnessed the honoring of girls wearing the Zainabi abaya, inside Mustansiriya University in all its faculties, coinciding with the auspicious birth anniversary of Lady Fatima al-Ma'soomah (peace be upon her)".
He added that "honoring Girls comes to introduce women to the status of the hijab and its value to be the source of credibility for chaste and pure women," pointing out that "it is not the first initiative and we seek to honor this segment in other universities."
For his part, the official of the University and School Relations Division in the Public Relations Department; Mr. Maher Khalid, said that" the holy shrine honored more than 650 female students wearing the Zainabi abaya inside the Mustansiriya University campus, "noting that"this abaya represents a symbol of Iraqi cultural identity, and embodies the meanings of modesty and chastity."
"The current edition of the festival included several events aimed at raising the level of culture among the students and celebrating them for their commitment to wearing this abaya that reflects the identity of Iraqi women,"he added.
