The warehouse department explains the standards followed in storing carpets and furnishings and the mechanism for maintaining them

The Warehouses' Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine clarified the standards followed in storing carpets and furnishings and the mechanism for preserving them.

The head of the carpet division; Mr. Firas Abdul Zahra Abdul Ali, said: "Our staff follows specific principles and standards in storing and preserving carpets and furnishings of all kinds."

He added that "the department uses eco-friendly pesticides on the carpets after cleaning and washing them, so they are ready for storage and preservation without any side effects, and to keep them for use on demand."

He pointed out that "the storage process goes through several stages, including numbering the carpet and placing a special image of it, after which it is placed in special holders elevated from the ground, taking into account the similarity in colors, patterns, craftsmanship, and measurements."

Abdul Ali explained that "the carpets in the department are of two types: handmade carpets and industrial carpets, each having specific places where they are used." He pointed out that "the existing carpets are chosen by a specialized committee that determines the color, type, and origin according to artistic standards that consider preserving the dignity of the place and respecting the taste of the visitors."
