The Sacred Defense Fatwa Cultural Festival will feature an exhibition of historical photos and documents

The preparatory committee for the Cultural Fatwa of Sacred Defense Festival confirmed that the festival's events will include the opening of an exhibition of historical photos and documents in the area between the two holy shrines.

The festival is held under the slogan "The Religious Authority is the Fortress of the Islamic Nation," organized by the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department and the Al-Wafi Documentation and Studies Foundation at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, on May 30-31, 2025.

The Deputy Head of the institution, Mr. Badr Al-Ali, said: "The exhibition will be held in the area between the two holy shrines and will include a collection of historical photos and documents that document the heroism of the fighters who responded to the call of the supreme religious authority and participated in confronting the ISIS terrorist gangs."

He added that "the event aims to highlight the great sacrifices made by the sons of Iraq in defense of the homeland and sacred sites."

Al-Ali confirmed that "Al-Wafi Foundation and the Intellectual Affairs Department were keen to showcase an important aspect of the memory of victory and sacrifices through the exhibition of archival materials and live testimonies that document pivotal historical moments in the modern history of Iraq."
