In coordination with the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, the Veterinary Department of the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture held a scientific conference about the plague PPA.

The conference
The Veterinary Department of the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture set up a scientific conference about the plague PPA, which was held on Sunday 23rd Shawwal 1436 AH corresponding to the 9th of August, 2015 in the hall of Imam Al-Hassan under the slogan "taking care of the animal health is a national duty and a support to the Iraqi economy". The conference began with the recitation of verses of the Holy Quran by the reader of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine Sayed. Hassanein Al-Helo, followed by the word of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered by Sheikh Bassem AbdAllah Al-Karbalai in which he stressed on the need to promote this sector, which is an important tributary of the country's wealth.
Stating: "The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine emphasizes on the need of this important field and has created a number of strategic service projects for the interest of the country's economy." Sheikh Al-Karbalai called the attendees to compete with real sincerity in their work which will give tremendous benefits to the country's economy and its noble people.
Then the advisor of the Agriculture Ministry for animal wealth; Dr. Hussein Aboud Saud presented his word in which he thanked the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for hosting this conference in such special time in which the country is facing fierce attack by the deviant terrorist groups. and this meeting is nothing but a clear proof that the people of Iraq stress on the need for the scientific process in spite of all the difficult circumstances surrounding them, and just as there are those who are fighting the darkness, there are others who are trying to develop this country, God willing.
He stated: "There is an international wide campaign to combat and eradicate this plague "PPA" aiming to reach a world free of the plague."
Then Dr. Salah Fadel Abbas explained the most important activities and achievements of the Veterinary Department of the year 2014, followed by lectures of specialist professors who have discussed the impact of the spread of this disease on the livestock sector and the ways of healing it.
