The official of the Department's thought and creative center, Mr. Mohammed al-A'raji, said that the exhibition organized by the Iraqi Center for documenting extremist crimes of the Department included more than 50 paintings and photographs documenting the sacrifices made by the martyrs in the face of the former regime and the Speicher massacre, pointing to the display of official documents and books related to executions, and documents related to mass graves.
Al-A'raji stressed that this initiative aims to perpetuate the blood of the martyrs and shed light on the crimes suffered by Iraqis, to be a historical witness entrenched in the national memory.
For his part, the dean of the Faculty of law at Karbala University, Dr. Ahmed Shaker Salman, said, "the Faculty of law was honored today in cooperation with the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to organize this documentary exhibition, which is part of the fulfillment of the blood of martyrs, and contributes to consolidating community awareness of the danger of terrorism and extremism."
"This exhibition is not a passing event, but is part of a comprehensive documentation project adopted by the holy shrine with the aim of educating new generations about the facts of the past and ensuring that such crimes will not be repeated in the future,"he added.
The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine is keen to hold documentary exhibitions at universities and educational institutions, as part of its quest to build a conscious national memory that contributes to enhancing community security and peace.
