The procession of the people of Karbala commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Muslim Ibn Aqeel (peace be upon him) at his holy shrine in Najaf province, in cooperation with the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
The assistant head of the Department of Hussayni Rituals, Processions and Bodies; Mr. Qasem al-Tarfi, said that the people of the holy city of Karbala used to go down annually with a unified funeral procession to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the ambassador of Imam al-Hussayn, Muslim bin Aqeel (peace be upon them), at his holy shrine.
He added that the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has worked to prepare logistical and service matters, including the provision of buses for transporting visitors back and forth, as well as the process of coordinating the movement of the procession, and providing food and water.
He added that the procession organized a condolence March, with the participation of a number of representatives of processions, parties and bodies, in addition to families and visitors grieving on this painful occasion, to conclude with the holding of a condolence Council at the holy shrine in the Grand Mosque of Kufa.
Al-Tarfi said that the council witnessed the recitation of poems and lamentations that expressed the tragedy and revived feelings of sadness and consolation, in a sad occasion that the people of Karbala used to revive.
The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, through its participation and support for these events, is keen to continue reviving religious events and recalling the biography of the holy imams (peace be upon them).
