The participation of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine came through the Cataloguing and Information Systems Centre, and Al-Fadl Centre for the preservation and maintenance of manuscript heritage and documentary archives, which are part of its Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department.
The head of the Technical Business Unit at Al-Fadl Centre, Mr. Qutaiba Aziz Hassan, said: "The participation included a presentation of the outputs of the Cataloguing and Information Systems Centre and Al-Fadl Centre for the preservation and maintenance of manuscript heritage and documentary archives," confirming that "the holy shrine is keen on active participation in the scientific and cultural events organised by universities."
For his part, Mr. Ali Abdul-Ridha Rasool, a member of the indexing centre staff, mentioned that "the centre participated in the festival with two important projects: the reference file for Iraqi authors and the Iraqi Knowledge Gateway project," explaining that "the file was launched in 2019 and initially included about 2,000 Iraqi authors, while their number has now exceeded 24,000 authors."
He explained that "the reference file includes three main axes: the first is the bibliography of Iraqi libraries and their locations on the digital map, the second is the database of Iraqi authors, and the third axis is concerned with gathering Iraqi intellectual output in one place, with clarification of the locations of titles in libraries, noting that 'these projects have received wide attention and appreciation from the attendees.'"
