The launch of the first research session as part of the second day's activities of the scientific conference on the Fatwa of Sacred Defence

Under the auspices of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, the Al-Abbas's (p) Combat Division launched the first research session as part of the second day's activities of the second scientific conference on the Fatwa of Jihad al-Kifai.

The session began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader Mohammad Al-Rakabi and was held in the Imam Al-Hasan (peace be upon him) hall at the holy shrine, attended by board members, officials, and many religious, official, and academic figures.

The first session, chaired by Professor Dr. Faiq Hassan Al-Shujairi, included six research papers. The first paper was titled "The Insight of the Religiious Authority: The Role of Drawing from the Civilisational Heritage and Enhancing National Values in the Stability of Iraq," presented by Brigadier General Dr. Ali Hindul, Dean of the National Defence College. The second paper was titled "The Role of the Defence Fatwa in Fortifying Society Against Extremism and Building Sound Religious Awareness: A Reading of the Religious Authority's Recommendations to Citizens," presented by Sheikh Dr. Abbas Atiyah Al-Quraishi, Head of the Iraqi Centre for Documenting Extremism Crimes affiliated with the Intellectual Affairs Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine. The third paper was titled "The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Combating Terrorism and Intellectual Extremism," presented by Dr. Mohammed Kadhem Abbas from the Centre for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad.

As for the fourth research, it was titled (Religious Authority and Its Defence of Sacred Sites - A Brief Reading) by researcher Sheikh Dr. Imad Al-Kadhemi, Director of the Kadhemiyah Centre for Heritage Revival. The fifth was titled (The Fatwa of Jihad al-Kifai and Changing the Equation of Conflict: A Study and Analysis of Community Mobilisation During the ISIS War) by researcher Rear Admiral Haydar Ibrahim Khayoun from the War College. The session concluded with the sixth research, which addressed a study titled (The Popular Mobilisation Forces Between the Legitimacy of Resistance and the State's Entitlements: Issues of Integration and Paths of Political Adaptation) by researcher Hanin Mohammed Al-Wahili from the Hammurabi Centre for Research and Strategic Studies in the Popular Mobilisation Authority.

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is keen on documenting this phase of Iraq's history through intellectual and cultural initiatives, including holding scientific conferences and supporting academic research, with the aim of preserving national memory and cementing the values that emerged from the fatwa.
