The second research session kicks off as part of the second day's activities of the scientific conference on the Fatwa of Sacred Defence

The activities of the second research session commenced at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine as part of the second day's events of the second scientific conference held under the slogan (The Insight of Fatwa: A Shield for Our Nation and Its Future).

The conference is held under the auspices of the Holy Shrine and organised by the Al-Abbas's (p) Combat Division in collaboration with the National Defence College, aiming to establish the scientific dimension of the fatwa and provide a methodological vision to fortify the nation against intellectual and security challenges.

The second session, chaired by Professor Dr. Nawar Jalil Al-Atabi, included five research papers. The first paper was titled "Modern Threats and the Role of the Iraqi Military Institution in Confronting Them," presented by Professor Dr. Saad Obaid Al-Saidi, a lecturer at the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad. The second paper was titled "The Role of Sustainable Development in Localising Security Indicators," presented by Professor Dr. Faiq Hassan Al-Shujairi, a lecturer at the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad. The third paper was titled "The Role of the Religious Authority in Rooting the Iraqi National Identity: The Fatwa of Jihad Al-Kafai as a Model," presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Saad Ali Hussein Al-Idrisi, a lecturer at the College of Political Science at Al-Mustansiriya University.

As for the fourth research, it was titled (Strategic Analysis of the Fatwa of Jihad al-Kifai: Goals and Means) by researcher Dr. Iyad Malik Abdul-Majid, a lecturer at the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad.

And the fifth is titled (Jihadist Fatwas: Guardianship in Sources and Legal and Sharia Foundations) by the researcher Colonel Jurist Mohamed Mohsen Abdel Ghali from the National Defence University.

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is keen on documenting this phase of Iraq's history through intellectual and cultural initiatives, including organising scientific conferences and supporting academic research, with the aim of preserving national memory and cementing the values that emerged from the fatwa.
