For the second day of Muharram... The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine holds its mourning councils

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine continues to hold its annual mourning councils for the second day of Muharram 1447 AH.

And it is the Public Speaking Division of the Hussayni Preaching at the Holy Shrine that supervises the councils held during the first ten days of Muharram.

The daily council held in the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) began with a beautiful recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a lecture delivered by Sheikh Ali Mohan, who exposed glimpses of the journey of Imam al-Hussayn and his family and companions (peace be upon them) to Karbala, highlighting the values embodied by that journey, from supporting the truth and reviving justice to examples of patience, sacrifice, and redemption.

The council concluded with the recitation of Hussayni poems delivered by Mulla Hamid Al-Tamimi, which expressed the depth of the tragedy amidst an atmosphere of sorrow and grief that enveloped the mourning participants.

The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine annually strives to revive the month of Muharram by holding Ashura commemorative gatherings to highlight the oppression of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and to remember his uprising and noble goals.
