The procession of the Cubs of Karbala... An educational project to prepare a conscious and responsible generation

The Department of Islamic and Human Sciences at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine continues to hold the activities of the "Ashbal Al-Taff" (ie Karbala Cubs) procession for the fifth consecutive year, with the participation of 100 Hussaini children, and it will continue until the tenth day of Muharram.

The procession represents a purposeful educational initiative that focusses on the younger generations, combining emotional and developmental aspects within a methodological framework. It draws lessons from Karbala and the values of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) to instill a sense of responsibility, spirit of sacrifice, and early belonging in children.

The procession aims to build a balanced personality that combines faith, thought, and service. The young scouts train in real skills for Hussaini service, such as organisation, public speaking, cooperation, and time management, which contributes to preparing a conscious generation.

The Ashbal Al-Taff procession is not a transient seasonal event; rather, it is an educational project that aims to establish a community striving to apply the principles of the Hussaini uprising and to educate children on understanding the deeper meaning behind the mourning for the martyrdom of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

The procession is held under the slogan: (Husseiniyyun... From cradle to grave), and it includes a series of religious, cultural, and service-oriented segments aimed at building the child's character, such as reciting verses from the Holy Quran, delivering guidance lectures, holding a daily mourning assembly, providing services to visitors, and organising a cultural competition for participants with material prizes allocated for them.

The activities of the procession were carefully prepared to suit the target age group, which ranges from seven to twelve years old. The children were also provided with a uniform in black to enhance their Hussaini identity and instill the culture of Ashura mourning in their hearts.

The scouts of the procession participate daily in providing services to the visitors, by distributing water, juices, and snacks, under the supervision of the members of the Department of Knowledge Affairs, ensuring the achievement of educational goals and instilling the principles and ethics of Hussaini service in the behaviour of the young buds.
