The roads leading to the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them), as well as the entrances to the old city, witnessed the arrival of large crowds of visitors from within the country and abroad to visit the holy shrines and commemorate the Ashura pilgrimage.
The ceremonies of the tenth day included the recitation of the martyrdom's story of al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) amidst an atmosphere of sorrow and grief that enveloped the place and the believers in remembrance of the painful event of Ashura.
Millions of visitors from inside and outside Iraq commemorate the tenth day of the month of Muharram, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), his family (peace be upon them), and his companions.
The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine mobilised all its staff efforts to provide various services to the visitors and the Hussaini processions spread along the different routes leading to the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them).
