The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine commemorates the eve of the eleventh of Muharram in Samarra

The service procession of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine revived the rituals of the eve of the eleventh of Muharram (the Night of Loneliness) in the city of Samarra as part of the Kafeel campaign to commemorate Ashura at the shrine of the two Imams (peace be upon them) in Samarra.

A member of the holy shrine delegation to Samarra, Mr. Hashim Al-Shami, said: "The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has prepared a special program for this occasion, which includes providing 365 buses to transport more than 12,000 visitors from Karbala and other provinces to the city of Samarra to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) on the tenth of Muharram at the shrine of the two Imams (peace be upon them) in Samarra."

He added that "the program included sending a complete team from the holy shrine's staff to provide services to the mourners for this great tragedy, starting with the recitation of the martyrdom story of Imam al-Hussayn, which narrates the details of the Karbala tragedy, followed by a mourning assembly after the Dohr and Asr prayers in the city of Samarra."

Al-Shami confirmed that "the events concluded with the commemoration of the Night of Loneliness, through a mourning procession in which participants carried candles, symbolizing the deep sorrow experienced by Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) and the children of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)."
