Continuous works and advanced achievement rates of the Gates of the Holy Shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him)..

Side of the ongoing works
The works of the external gates of the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), which are included in the series of the continuous reconstruction projects of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and which completion rates have reached advanced stages according to the plan developed by the Engineering Projects Department at the holy shrine in accordance with what was agreed upon with the executing company (Ard Al-Qods Company of construction).

The executive Director of the mentioned company, Hameed Majeed Al-Sa;egh stated to the Al-Kafeel Network: "The horizontal expansion project of the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) included several sub-project, which are all prominent to this great and vital project that is new to our holy shrines since many centuries. And among those projects the expansion project of the holy shrine gates (main entrances). The works are ongoing in the front facade of the Gate of Al-Qibla, which is characterized with the specificity of its inscriptions and the gilding using the german gilding material that bears high temperatures. As for the Gate of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) -Bab Al-Kaff- it will be fully opened after the finishing of the works of the marble tiles, Kashi Karbalai and streaky Kashi."

Adding: "As for the Gate of the Euphrates -Al-'Alqami- the works are going in the inside of the gate after completing the external works. Gate Al-'Alqami is characterized by its two transparents domes that allow light to enter to the gate's entrance with inscriptions and Muqarnas in great height up to 2,5m. While the gate of Imam al-Hadi (peace be upon him)the final touches have been put, and it will be opened soon -InshaAllah-. This gate is characterized by very beautiful Muqarnas and inscriptions in small heights that suit the size of this gate."

Mr. Al-Sa'igh continued: "The gate of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him), one of the big and main entrances, we have used the streaky Kashi in all its internal details, the area of this gate is almost of 130 m2, all decorated with special Muqarnas on big heights suiting the size of this gate, which faces the main square between the two holy shrines, from which comes its importance. The works in the gate of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) are in their final stages. This gate is characterized by an internal dome filled with Muqarnas in from of inner dome, which is used for the first time in these gates and they are in blue color, in addition to the transparent dome that allow the light to enter to the entrance of the gate too. Also the works of the gate of Saheb Az-Zaman [the owner of the time] (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) are also in progress, and it is also one of the beautiful gates that contain escalators in two directions for the upper floor and to the basement. It is characterized by its big size to receive big numbers of visitors to and from the basement and the second floor, mirrors and glass were introduced in its internal design. As for the works of the gate of Imam Musa Al-Kadhem (peace be upon him) were completed earlier, to allow its use to the visitors, and it is charcterized to the big height, decorated by the officila Kashi Karbalai, in a special design to this gate, and the internal side of the gate was decorated by the gilded Muqarnas."

It is to note that the General Secretary of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has given great attention to this project, as these gates form with other external parts of the Quranic engravings, the arches and other finishing works of this project a very beautiful piece of art in design and implementation, combining the fragrance of the past embodied in the architectural design of the holy shrine and the latest architectural materials of high quality, as the designers have excelled in this project with the creativity of implementation, which is in line with it.
