The people of the governorate, in all their forms, types, and factions, are accustomed to organizing processions and mourning councils to commemorate the events of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) throughout the year, including the seventh day of the commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hussayn and his family (peace be upon them) and his righteous companions.

The procession started from the Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) shrine's Qibla gate to his holy courtyard, passing through the area between the two holy shrines, and reaching the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), where a mourning council was held in his holy courtyard.
