The supervisor of the beekeeping project, Dr. Hassanein Mohammed, said: "The Al-Kafeel Beekeeping Project was established in 2012 and relies on the (moving) system in its operations. This method involves moving the beehives to areas with suitable nectar sources for the bees, especially in the summer. The hives are transported to the cooler regions in northern Iraq, which helps maintain an optimal environment for production."
He added that "the production capacity of the project is about 10 tons annually of high-quality natural honey, depending on the strength of the nectar source and the availability of suitable environmental conditions."
He explained that "the beehives produce several types of natural honey, the most prominent of which are eucalyptus honey, clover honey, sidr honey, and various flower honeys, in addition to citrus honey which is produced in limited quantities in some seasons."
The supervisor of the beekeeping operations explained that "the distribution process covers all Al-Kafeel direct sales centers spread from southern Iraq to northern Iraq, in addition to supplying local markets with natural honey and other bee products, such as pollen, royal jelly, propolis, and more."
