The Kafeel Center for Health and Safety, affiliated with the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, concluded a series of first aid training courses with the participation of 420 volunteers from various provinces as part of the preparations for the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
The center's coordinator, Mr. Hassan Hussein Abdul Nabi, said: "Today, a series of training courses held in various areas of the Basra, Dhi Qar, and Wasit governorates, as part of the 'In Every Home a Rescuer' program, were concluded."
He added that the courses lasted for fourteen days and were attended by 420 trainees, under the slogan "You are safe in the hospitality of the holy shrines," in preparation for serving the visitors heading to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the Arbaeen of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).
He explained that the topics covered in the courses included recognizing cases of fainting and loss of consciousness and how to deal with them, in addition to practical training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency intervention in choking cases for infants, children, and adults.
The courses also included other topics such as: dealing with fractures, controlling bleeding, treating burns and poisoning, as well as methods for safely transporting the injured, and using the emergency call device.
These courses are part of the preparations by the Al-Kafeel Center for Public Health and Safety for the Arbaeen pilgrimage, aimed at enhancing the skills of volunteers in first aid and enabling them to perform their humanitarian role in providing support and assistance to visitors at various service locations.
