The Hussaini processions set off with mourning marches that traversed the city's streets to offer condolences to Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) on the anniversary of the martyrdom of the noble of the Prophet's family, Imam al-Hassan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him).
The people of holy Karbala have been accustomed every year to commemorate the martyrdom anniversaries of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) by holding mourning processions to revive the painful tragedy.
The mourning processions is organized in coordination with the Department of Rituals and Hussaini Processions and the organizations, with a comprehensive plan to commemorate religious occasions, receive mourners, facilitate their entry into the holy shrines, and hold mourning councils.
