The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine inaugurates the general cultural procession at the Al-Alqami Complex for visitors

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine inaugurated the general cultural procession on the visitors' route along the (Babylon-Karbala) axis, at the Al-Alqami complex for visitors.

The opening ceremony of the procession was held in the presence of several officials from the holy shrine, religious and academic figures, and a gathering of visitors.

Dr. Shawqi Al-Mousawi, the supervisor of the procession at the Al-Alqami Complex, said that the inauguration witnessed participation from several departments in the holy shrine, through a series of interactive activities and programs that carried a cultural, heritage, intellectual, religious, and museum-like character, which enhances the positive impact of these processions on the awareness of the visitors.

He added that the cultural procession is held annually and is considered one of the vital initiatives organised by the departments of the holy shrine, serving as a platform for the spiritual nourishment of the visitors of Imam al-Hussayn and his family (peace be upon them) on their journey to Karbala.

For his part, Mr. Maher Khaled, a member of the executive committee of the procession, mentioned that the opening of the cultural procession this year witnessed the participation of more than ten departments from the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, aiming to spread culture and awareness among the visitors through a series of cultural and awareness publications, and discussion sessions managed by a number of specialised trainers.

He added that the procession includes various activities ranging from advisory and educational stations, such as the Al-Kafeel Youth Project station, the Youth Challenges and Solutions station, in addition to the Virtual Reality (VR) station, the "Messages from God to You" station, as well as other cultural stations organised by several departments of the holy shrine.

Khaled pointed out that the procession includes educational competitions and the presentation of symbolic gifts to the participants, affirming that "this initiative is part of a series of services provided by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to the visitors with the aim of raising awareness and culture during the pilgrimage season."

The procession is participated in by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, the Scientific Complex of the Holy Quran, the Department of Islamic and Human Sciences, the Department of Religious Affairs, the Public Relations Department, and the Department of Development and Sustainable Development, in addition to the Al-Kafeel Museum of Treasures and Manuscripts, and the House of Knowledge of Nahj al-Balagha. They present a range of intellectual, doctrinal, and awareness activities aimed at various visitor groups, with a focus on the youth, through programs that aim to deepen the awareness of Imam al-Hussayn's (peace be upon him) culture and expand the circle of doctrinal understanding.
