The Al-Abbas Fighting Squad held on the afternoon of Saturday 12th of Dhu Al-Hijjah 1436 AH corresponding to the 26th of September 2015 a central military parade, in which have participated the graduated from its training centres opened by the leadership of the Squad in all provinces of Iraq, in implementation of the guidances of the supreme religious authority in Najaf, who called for the need of readiness and preparedness of the people in its various segments to ward off the dangers that may surround the country. Brigades and battalions forces and armor, artillery, elite forces, rockets and others have participated in this parade.
This parade was attended by an extensive media coverage, a delegation representing the holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), Mr. Nassif Al-Khattabi Chairman of of the holy city of Karbala and a large number of religious, political and military figures in the province of Basra.
The parade was preceded by a ceremony that started with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader of the two holy shrines, Haj Osama Karbalai, then standing for the recitation of Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by an audio recording of Sheikh Abd Al-Mahdi Al-Karbalai, in which had announced the advisory opinion of the supreme religious authority for the sufficient duty for Jihad.
Then a funeral military march, in which were carried symbolic coffins of the Squad's martyrs, led by a group pf Sayeds of the servants of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), carrying scepters.
Followed by the word of the Secretariat general of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered by its Deputy Secretary-General Engineer Bashir Mohammad Jassem. Then the word of the Iraqi Ministry of Defence delivered by the Commander of the Basra Operations, Major General Samir Abd Al-Kareem Jassem. Then came the word of the general supervisor of the Al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad, in which he explained that the participants in this parade are the newly graduated from the training centers opened by the squad in the various provinces of Iraq, in response to the call of the Supreme religious authority in Najaf.
Stating: "There are more than 25 thousands ready fighters who have graduated from 120 centers , under the supervision of a number of Iraqi coaches, and some of them are participating in this parade."
Noting: "The Squad consists of four brigades deployed in a number of provinces of Iraq, including the borders of the province of Karbala, Balad, Dujail, Baiji and Amerli, all administratively belonging to the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, which follow its orders and those of the leaders of the joint operations."
At the end of his word, the supervisor has thanked the service and security departments in the province of Basra and all those who have contributed in the organization of the parade.
Then came the word of the province of Basra delivered by Mr. Arab Al-Jazaeri, the Deputy Governor, who stated: "The province of Basra had the honor to receive the Al-Abbas's (p) fighting Squad for the establishment of this prestigious parade, so you are most welcomed in your city."
Stressing: "After that the Squad's leadership has chosen the province of Basra, the province has formed a committee including all service and security departments in order to provide the necessary facilities to set up this parade."
Finally, it was the turn of the President of the University of Basra, Prof.Dr. Thamer Al-Hamadani who stated: "We can only express all the respect and appreciation to the Mujahideen who stand as a bulwark to defend the honor of the great Iraqi people, and the Mujahideen in the Squad of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) have embodied the finest meaning of the name of the banner's bearer of Al-Hussayn, Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them)."
Then, the parade started, in which the squad exposed some of its weapons and equipment (artillery, reconnaissance aircraft, medical care..)
Also some paratroopers have jumped carrying the Iraqi flag and the banner of the Squad, in addition to other activities such as martial arts demo, and break into virtual buildings where terrorists are holed up.
