The closing ceremony of the Second Annual International Conference of the manuscripts heritage preservation and revival..

On Monday the 21st Dhu Al-Hijjah 1436 AH corresponding to the 5th October 2015, the Hall of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) for conferences and seminars at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine hosted the closing ceremony of the second annual international conference of the manuscripts heritage preservation and revival, held by the Library and House of manuscripts at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and which lasted for two days under the slogan "Keep your books, you will need them."
The closing ceremony started by the recitation of verses of Holy Quran and the word of Sayed. Nour Ad-Deen Al-Musawi the head of the division of the Library and House of Manuscripts at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, in which he thanked all those who contributed and participated in the success of this conference, and then he gave a detailed explanation about the administrative structure of the Library and the duties of its units and its subsidiaries as well as what have been achieved by the Library and its staff since its founding in 2007 either on the level of drafting, revision, indexing or the e-books and how it was able to rehabilitate a number of ambitious and successful research and revision projects and programs and it could prove its efficiency despite all the circumstances, adding: "All hopes, we were able, all praise to God, to achieve the set objectives that we have put in mind since the adoption of this project."
Then Dr. Ali Faraj Al-'ameri from Italy delivered the final statement and recommendations of the conference, which were as follows:
1- Working on the establishment of a special website for displaying all the manuscripts pictures and Islamic documents that has been gathered from all over the world to make it available to the researchers according to international rules bases.
2- Working on the establishment of specialized vocational courses in the revision, restoration and indexing in collaboration with the specialized institutions and centers in this field within the effective working protocols.
3- Approaching the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to rely on the revision, restoration and indexing within the curricula of the initial and higher studies in the universities, each according to its specialization.
4- Working on the founding of an academic institute specialized in the manuscripts heritage, to grant official certificates in this field in cooperation with similar international institutes.
5- building cultural bridges between the competent international institutions in the field of manuscripts heritage, in service to the researchers and the specialists.
6- Seeking issuing a magazine about the manuscripts heritage with international character.
7- Activating the joint publication project between the library and house of manuscripts of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and the international centers interested in the heritage.
8- Seeking to establish a website for knowing the specialists in this field, by putting their names, countries, biographies and personal works and everything related to their heritage activity.
9- In order to pursuit the scientific research in the fields of indexing, restoration and revision, and to achieve the above recommendations, the conference will be held periodically every two years.
The ceremony ended by honoring the chairman of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, representing the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine from the the province of Erbil and its Salahuddin University, and then paying tribute to the researchers, conferees and media channels by the preparatory committee of the conference.
