The ornamental frieze of the new grid of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him): from silver to gold..

One of the important components of the new grid of the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) is the ornamental frieze, which is on the upper part of the holy grid and between the two Quranic inscriptions, and after the completion of the special works of the pieces of the frieze manufactured of silver plated with gold, they were all installed on th wooden structure of the grid.
In one of the visits of the Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Sayed. Ahmed Al-Safi to the factory of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for the grids' manufacture of the holy shrines and sanctuaries in order to pursue the works of the grid on the 18th of Aprile, 2015, a decision was made to re-wrok this frieze with gold 22 carat instead of the manufactured one from siver plated with gold. The decision came for these reasons:
First: The General Secretariat does not spare no effort to put forth and present the best, the most beautiful and the most accomplished grid to the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl (peace be upon him), who has given his holy soul for the victory of religion and as redemption to his brother Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).
Second: This beautiful frieze comes within two Quranic inscriptions and it is the apparent link to it on the one hand, and on the other hand, the inscriptions in the frieze with time will be exposed to hundreds of cloth pieces that are thrown on the grid by the visitors seeking blessings, but that might damage the the paint in the future.
It is noteworthy that the frieze consists of 18 pieces, the length of each is 128 cm with a height of 35 cm and a thickness of 1 mm, which all needs 180 kg of gold, and the Secretary General instructed its immediate disbursement to replace the silver frieze with another one made of gold bullion, which works have been accomplished.
