The holy city of Karbala receives large numbers of visitors from inside and outside Iraq, congesting the hotels, roads and streets of the city, having all for purpose, the performance of the rituals of the Ziyarat of Imam Al-Hussayn and his brother Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) in Ashura. The visitors started arriving to the holy city since the early days of the sacred month of Muharram, and they are still coming to perform this Ziyarat and to recall At-Taf tragedy to be inspired by the ideals and values embodied by the imam of the free in facing the injustice, tyranny and corruption and defending the honor of Islam and its blessed message for which Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) made his sacrifice. The Ziyarat will reach its peak tomorrow in the noon of the tenth of Muharram.
There is a clear and significant distinction in numbers and nationalities of the visitors arriving to commemorate this Ziyarat, groups came from various Muslim countries such as Kingdom of Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Kuwait, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Oman, Lebanon and Syria, and from non-Muslim countries such as Sweden, Germany and other European countries.
A number of visitors, especially from Gulf countries, have appealed through Al-Kafeel Global Network to the Iraqi government to facilitate the visa procedures because they suffer from a complex routine procedures, despite the difficult situation that prevented the arrival of large numbers of them and deprived them of the performance of the rituals of this Ziyarat.
For its part, the administration of Najaf airport announced a significant increase in the number of flights in these days every year during the religious occasions and Ziyarat, like the southern borders that experience an increase in the visitors' numbers.
