With the approach of the Ziyarat Arba'een and the influx of millions of visitors from the lovers and followers of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) towards the city of sacrifice and redemption, the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the Arba'een of Imam Al-Hussayn and his holy family (peace be upon all of them). The Supreme Religious Authority has issued on the sermon of Friday prayer of the 7th Safar 1437 AH. corresponding to the 20th November, 2015, which was held at holy shrine of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) lead by Sheikh Abd Al-Mahdi Al-Karbalai, a number of recommendatiosn and guidelines that the visitors are asked to follow during this occasion:
"With the approach of the Ziyarat Arba'een, performed by millions of the lovers of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) walking towards his holy shrine to express their loyalty and the strength of their association with Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) renewing the Covenant to continue the path of his noble principles and values, and we would like to the remind the faithful of some recommendations on this occasion:
Firstly: One of the most important purposes of this Hussayni Ziyarat is to maintain the principles and teachings of Islam from which Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), his family and companions were martyred, which requires from the believers to enforce the teachings of religion and to obey to God, His messengers and the pure Imams (Allah's prayers be upon them) by performing the religious duties and avoid forbidden. Noting that there will be a group of scholars and students of Hawza to answers to religious questions and to lead the group prayers along the road leading to Karbala, so the visitors have to take advantage of these days and to make out of their blessed journey an opportunity to learn more about their religion and to show more sense of morality. It is befitting for believers to perform their prayers on time because Allah loves those who rush to prayer as soon as they hear the call for it. It is not appropriate for a believer to engage in any other acts of worship in the prime for prayer because prayer is the best form of obedience to Allah. And, about Imam Al-Hussayn's special attention to prayer on the Day of Ashura, it has been reported that he told his companion who reminded him of the prime time for the prayer: "You reminded me of prayer, may Allah include you amongst the observers of prayer and are always remembering Allah." And then, he performed prayer in the battlefield despite the rain of arrows on him and his companions. So, Fear Allah in relation to your prayers. As stated in the narration, the prayer is the pillar of your religion and the ascension of the believers, if it is accepted, all other acts will be accepted and if it is rejected, all other acts of worship will also be rejected.
Secondly: Among the most important purposes of this journey is to entrench the fundamental basis from which Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) started in journey from Medina to Karbala, and wanted his followers and lovers to be committed to it even in the darkest circumstances: sacrificing oneself, the money and the children to protect Islam values and principles without change or distortion, as well as the altruism, courage, patience, steadfastness, determination and solid will in this path. And there is no doubt that the fateful battle in these days against the gangs of ISIS reflects those finest values, particularly from out beloved ones the fighters stationed in the fronts, leaving behind them the worldly pleasures, away from their families and children to embody redemption, sacrifice and altruism in order to protect the country and its citizens. And one of the manifestation of loyalty to Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) during these days is to sustain the battle momentum against ISIS, by promoting the spirit of steadfastness and will to fight and support the fighters by aid and strong men with valor and determination to cleanse all Iraq's land from these gangs. The people who were able to defy terrorism, cars bombs, and explosives all these years and who have achieved victory in many battles, is able to perpetuate the momentum of victories in battle against ISIS gangs to reach the final victory, God willing.
Thirdly: It is hoped from the visitors and the owners of Hussayni processions - May God reward them- to be keen so all their services are reflective of the morals of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), through their keenness to preserve the public and private properties, whether for government departments or of citizens, not crowding the roads of buses and cars transporting visitors, maintaining the cleanliness of their positions, without any extravagance in food, as this blessed act of feeding the visitors can turn to blameworthy act if combined with extravagance and waste. We also emphasize on the good cohabitation between visitors without scrambling, but to cooperate with everyone for the success of this Ziyarat, especially with the security forces to enable them to perform their duties in the best way and not permitting any security breach -God forbid- And we recommend the sisters to observe modesty in their conducts, clothing and appearance and to avoid whatever is deemed a violation of this e.g. wearing close-fitting clothes, mixing up in an abominable way with members of the opposite gender. In fact, it is befitting for believers that in order for them to keep the sacred ritual untainted, they have to, as far as possible, adhere to the highest levels of modesty."
