The Southern Green Belt First Division begins harvesting pomegranates from its orchards

The staff of the Southern Green Belt First Division, affiliated with the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, have begun harvesting the pomegranate crop from its orchards.

The head of the agriculture division in the department, Mr. Sajjad Hussein, said: "The division's staff have started harvesting pomegranates from the orchards affiliated with the department, with quantities exceeding a tonne; aiming to supply the local markets and meet their needs."

He added that "the seedlings of the crop are distinguished by their variety, including Iraqi, Yemeni, and Egyptian, among other high-quality varieties."

The Southern Green Belt Division I is keen on supplying local markets with various agricultural crops.
