The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced the success of the plan to secure the central graduation ceremony for Iraqi university students (the sixth batch on the guidance of the moon).
The ceremony was organised by the University and School Relations Division of the Public Relations Department at the Holy Shrine, under the slogan "From the Rain of Karbala, Generosity Grows," as part of the National Al-Kafeel Youth Project, with the participation of more than 5,000 students representing 75 public and private universities from various provinces of Iraq.
The head of the Security Department of the Holy Shrine, Mr. Hussein Al-Shahristani, said: "The plan included the distribution of responsibility sectors under the direct supervision of the department's advanced staff, with several centres and sections being on alert until the last student leaves the celebration sites. Additionally, the students' accommodation sites were secured to ensure a safe and comfortable atmosphere for them throughout their stay."
He added that "the department worked on securing the convoys of students' busses and escorting them from their accommodation sites to the holy shrine, then returning them after the events, in addition to organising the routes for the students from the moment they entered the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), passing through the area between the two holy shrines, then reaching the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), and finally returning them to their busses through the deployment of mobile patrols of the staff."
Al-Shahrastani indicated that specialised personnel took on the task of identification at checkpoints to facilitate the entry of busses in coordination with the Karbala Police Command, while specialised devices were provided to inspect busses and bags at the entrances of accommodation sites and the central event location.
Al-Shahrastani confirmed the provision of communication devices and ambulances in the vicinity of the Sheikh Al-Kulayni complex and the Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) service complex, which are affiliated with the holy shrine, and the enhancement of security in these locations. He indicated that the department's staff participated in organising the checkpoints and general procedures at the entrance gate of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and fifty checkpoints were distributed to ensure the smooth movement of visitors and students.
