To begin its maintenance and restoration.. Al-Kafeel Museum receives the second batch of artefacts from the Askariyayn Holy Shrine

The Kafeel Museum of Treasures and Manuscripts, affiliated with the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, received the second batch of artefacts from the Askariyayn Holy Shrine to begin their maintenance and restoration.

The assistant to the head of the museum department, Dr. Shawqi Al-Moussawi, said: "The second step of the cooperation agreement between the holy shrines of Al-Hadi and al-Askari and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them) was represented by receiving a new collection consisting of 50 valuable and diverse pieces presented by the delegation of the Askariyayn holy shrine."

He added that "the pieces were brought into the laboratories of the Al-Kafeel Museum of Treasures and Manuscripts to begin maintenance and restoration work using modern scientific methods, in preparation for the opening of the al-Askariyayn Holy Shrine Museum soon."

For his part, the head of the Gifts, Vows, and Donations Department at the Askariyayn Holy Shrine, Mr. Ali Latif, said that "the returned items belong to the shrine of the two Imams al-Askariyyin (peace be upon them), which were damaged as a result of the heinous bombing in 2006."
