The resident engineer on the project, Hussein Mohammed, said: "The new building of the Kafeel Museum is part of the expansion projects of the holy shrine and is being constructed on an area exceeding four thousand square meters from the direction of the Bab al-Qibla."
He added that "the department's staff continue their work on installing the structural framework for the columns and ceiling within the first floor of the building, after completing the excavation work, soil stabilization, and the installation of the structural framework for the building's basement and ground floor."
Mohammed added that "the building includes a minaret with a height of 80 meters, as a distinctive feature, and will contain some services that support the nearby development projects, such as the Qibla crypt and the Iwans. The building's crypt will include water tanks and stations, as well as several service systems for electricity, sound, communications, and surveillance."
