The forum was organized by the Education and Teaching Department of the Holy Shrine, under the title: "Building an Islamic Educational Philosophy between the Being and the Possible," and it lasted for three days at the Al-Ameed Educational Group.
The forum was organized with the participation of Professor Khosrow Bagheri, President of the Philosophy of Education Association in Iran and Professor of Philosophy of Education at the University of Tehran, one of the most prominent contemporary thinkers in the philosophy of education. He delivered a series of specialized lectures and scientific sessions as part of the forum's activities.
The first day of the forum included a speech by the head of the department, Dr. Hassan Dakhel, in which he highlighted the global challenges facing educational work, which go beyond the limits of curricula and administrative tools. This was followed by two research sessions. The first session addressed the importance of Islamic culture and its role in building the educational system, while the second session discussed the foundations of modern education and teaching, in a comparative framework that highlighted different educational philosophies.
The second day featured a promotional film about the Al-Ameed Educational Group and its various activities, a lecture highlighting the stages of human upbringing from an Islamic perspective, and a panel discussion titled "The Effectiveness of Islamic Educational Philosophy in the Challenges of the Digital Age."
The third day concluded with a lecture titled "Issues of Religious Education in the Modern Era," presented by Professor Khosrow Bagheri. Dr. Hassan then delivered a series of recommendations that embodied the vision of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in establishing an educational project like the Al-Ameed Project.
He mentioned in the recommendations to focus on an accurate diagnosis of operational and administrative problems, especially the major issues that afflict educational work and put it in a closed and narrow horizon, and to work on holding workshops from time to time to continue what was established in this forum over the three days.
He added, "The forum should serve as a link between schools and universities, and between theoretical work and daily practical work. We hope that future editions will see an expansion in the number of participants from researchers inside and outside Iraq so that we can build a common language of dialog and a vision that aspires to create an educational specificity for our values and our society instead of importing and consuming ready-made educational models and relying on them in building learners."
The head of the department concluded that "this forum is a true foundation for a future work horizon based on our religious, social, and value constants, to build a theory with a philosophical character that can be translated into other horizons and give us an active presence in the national and global educational scene."
The supervisor of the Department of Education, Dr. Abbas Al-Dadah Al-Mousawi, honored Professor Khosrow Bagheri for his contribution to enriching the forum by addressing some of the challenges facing the teacher-student relationship and the main aspects of modern education.
