The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine organized a ceremony to honor the coordinators of Iraqi universities from the provinces of Baghdad and Babylon, as part of the Iraqi Abaya Wearers Project, which was held by the University and School Relations Division of the Public Relations Department at the holy shrine.
The assistant to the director of the Senior Official's office for women's affairs at the holy shrine, Mrs. Firdous Ali Hassoun, said, "The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by an awareness lecture that addressed the place of modesty in faith, its status, and its importance as a fundamental element in building a woman's character." She emphasized "the necessity of dedicating efforts to instill these values in souls and to comprehend them, as they are an intrinsic part of a woman's character, as mentioned in the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)."
She added that: "The ceremony witnessed the honoring of the participants, alongside the screening of a documentary film about the annual honoring activities for female students wearing the Iraqi abaya on campus, embodying the project's goals and educational and social messages, and reinforcing the significance of this celebration as an important cultural resource for female students in universities."
