The Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine participated with ten scientific papers in the proceedings of the Second International Heritage Conference, held in the holy city of Najaf.

The conference was organized by the Alawi Institute for Research and Islamic Studies at the Imam Ali's (p) Holy Shrine, titled "The Manuscript Heritage in the Libraries of Najaf Ashraf: A Treasure of Civilization and History," under the slogan "Najafi Heritage: Authenticity and Radiance," with the participation of a select group of researchers and specialists in heritage and manuscripts.

The director of the Library and Manuscript House of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Mr. Noor al-Din Al-Moussawi, said that "the participation included the presentation of ten scientific papers that contributed to enriching the conference's sessions," explaining that "the researchers from the Manuscript Imaging and Cataloging Center participated with eight research papers, covering various topics related to the heritage of Najaf Ashraf, both past and present, within the scientific sessions of the conference."

He added: "The Indexing and Information Systems Center also participated with two scientific papers, focusing on the national projects the center is working on, including the Iraqi Knowledge Gateway project and the bibliographic file of Iraqi authors, and their relation to documenting and making available the Najafi manuscript heritage."

Al-Moussawi explained: "These scientific participations come within the framework of enhancing the presence of the knowledge projects adopted by the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in academic forums, and contributing to building a solid scientific memory that preserves heritage and ensures its continuity for future generations."

He pointed out that "the organizing committee of the conference honored the participating researchers at the conclusion of its activities, in appreciation of their effective contributions, and in recognition of the scientific studies provided by the research centers that enriched the conference's themes."
