The grid manufacturing department begins the maintenance work on the grid of the Maqam of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance)

The Department of Shrine Grids and Doors at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has commenced the periodic maintenance of the grid of the Maqam of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance).

The head of the cleaning unit in the department, Mr. Muslim Al-Rubaie, said: "The technical staff in the department have started maintenance work on the Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) Maqam's grid, as part of a plan prepared for the maintenance of the holy shrines' grids; with the aim of preserving the luster and beauty of the metals that adorn the external structure of the grid and protecting it."

He added that "the work included the use of high-quality polishing and cleaning materials specifically made to handle precious metals like gold and silver, to ensure their protection and maintenance without affecting the precision of their decorative engravings."

Al-Rubaie explained that "the cleaning operations were carried out with care and precision, taking into account the maintenance process during times of relatively low visitor numbers to avoid obstructing the movement of visitors coming to perform the rituals and prayers inside the holy shrine."
