The inaugural research session of the first preliminary scientific conference to commemorate the millenium of the Najaf Hawza

The activities of the first preliminary scientific conference, commemorating the millenium of the Hawza in Najaf Ashraf, witnessed the holding of the inaugural research session.

The conference is organized by the Sheikh Al-Tusi Center for Studies and Research, affiliated with the Supreme Authority for Reviving Heritage at the Holy Shrine, in collaboration with Al-Kafeel University and the Shiite Research Institute – Toronto, under the slogan "The Najaf Hawza: A Thousand Years of Giving" and titled "The Heritage of Sheikh Al-Tusi in Islamic and Western Thought: Contemporary Approaches" at the Imam Al-Murtadha Complex (peace be upon him) affiliated with the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in Najaf Ashraf.

The session, chaired by Sheikh Dr. Haidar Al-Sahlani, witnessed the presence of the Senior Official of the holy shrine, His Eminence Sayed Ahmad Al-Safi, along with several of its officials and religious and academic figures from inside and outside Iraq.

The session's activities included the discussion of two research papers, the first by the esteemed scholar of the Qom Hawza, His Eminence Sayed Mohammad Jawad Shubayri al-Zanjani, titled: "A Comparison of the Three Hadith Collections of the Sect's Scholars: Al-Saduq, Al-Mufid, and Al-Tusi – May Allah have mercy on them – with an emphasis on Al-Tusi's collection – May Allah have mercy on him."

The second research paper was titled "From Occultation to Occultation: What Has Changed Between Al-Nu'mani's Book of Occultation and Al-Tusi's Book of Occultation?" By researcher Dr. Mathieu Tareh, Director of Religious Studies at the École Pratique des Hautes Études in France.

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is keen on highlighting the contributions of eminent scholars in various fields of knowledge through research, publication, and the organization of specialized scientific seminars and conferences, in addition to heritage publications and scientific encyclopedias that shed light on this rich legacy to celebrate the millenium of the Hawza in Najaf Ashraf.
