The Iraqi Center for Documenting Extremism Crimes, affiliated with the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, held a photographic and documentary exhibition of the crimes of the former regime on Al-Mutanabbi Street in Baghdad.
The exhibition included a collection of official documents and archival photographs that depict the chapters of suffering endured by Iraqis during the era of the fallen regime, and the subsequent crimes committed by terrorist organizations, foremost among them the ISIS terrorist organization, shedding light on the scale of violations that claimed thousands of lives and the historical context that accompanied those events.
The exhibition was attended by academic and media figures, as well as walkers on Al-Mutanabbi Street, who showed remarkable interest in the displayed content and interacted with the accompanying documentary explanations of the photos and documents.
The exhibition comes as part of a series of documentary and cultural programs adopted by the center, within the framework of its project aimed at preserving the national memory, promoting a culture of rejecting extremism and hate speech, and enhancing values of societal coexistence and civil peace among the various components of Iraqi society, coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
