The department responsible for manufacturing the holy shrine grids and doors at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has begun the process of transferring the grids of the Askariyayn holy shrine from Karbala to Samarra after their restoration.
The head of the carpentry department, Mr. Samir Lotfi, said: "The technical staff in the department have completed the transfer of three historical grids to the city of Samarra by placing them in wooden boxes specifically designed to protect them during the transportation process, in preparation for their installation in the Askariyayn Holy Shrine Museum."
He added that "the transferred grids are the grid of the sacred crypt, which is approximately 840 years old, the old grid that dates back nearly 325 years, and the previous grid that is 65 years old, which was unjustly bombed due to the terrorist attack in 2006."
Lotfi explained that "our teams will begin implementing the technical and engineering installation plan for the grids after they arrive in the city of Samarra; in order to preserve the historical value of these sacred artifacts."
