The procession witnessed the participation of several members of the Board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, along with some of its officials.
The procession set off from the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine, passing through the square between the two holy shrines, concluding with a mourning assembly in the courtyard of Imam al-Hussayn's (peace be upon him) shrine, with wide participation from the visitors.
The unified mourning procession for the service of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) is considered one of the annual events held to commemorate this sorrowful occasion.
The eighth of Shawwal marks the anniversary of the demolition of the graves of the Imams of Baqi (peace be upon them), namely: Imam al-Hassan al-Mujtaba, Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn, Imam Mohammad al-Baqer, and Imam Ja'far al-Sadeq (peace be upon them). These holy shrines were demolished nearly a century ago by the enemies of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and their adversaries, an event that continues to evoke sorrow and grief in the hearts of believers around the world.
