The head of the media department at the holy shrine, Mr. Ali Al-Badri, stated that "the humanitarian convoy delegation arrived in the holy city of Karbala after delivering aid to the affected people in Iran, which included 38 trucks loaded with 690 tons of humanitarian aid, comprising 670 tons of essential food items, along with 20 tons of necessary medical supplies."
He added that "the distribution of these materials was carried out in cooperation with the Office of the Supreme Religious Authority in Iran, and in coordination with the Iranian Red Crescent, which has a comprehensive database of the affected."
Al-Badri explained that "the delegation from the holy shrine conducted several visits to the wounded in hospitals and to the families of the martyrs during their stay there, offering them condolences and sympathy along with gifts from the blessings of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him)."
He pointed out that "the collection of donations is still ongoing through the outlets within the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), in preparation for launching other relief convoys in the coming period."
The holy shrine had launched its humanitarian campaign to support the Iranian and Lebanese peoples in response to the call of the supreme religious authority to extend a helping hand to the affected, and opened its doors to collect donations through its offices in the departments for receiving gifts, vows, endowments, and religious affairs, inside the holy courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), in addition to the gifts and vows unit for female visitors, and the Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her) center affiliated with the Senior Official's office for women's affairs.
