The Second Southern Green Belt Department of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine confirmed that its oases supply local markets with about 35 tons of agricultural products monthly.
The head of the agriculture division, Mr. Tanweer Sadiq, said that "the division's staff begin daily harvesting of agricultural crops from the green belt oases, as part of the seasonal agricultural plan, using modern farming methods, including the use of high-quality organic fertilizers that play an important role in maintaining soil and crop health."
He added that "the department harvests about 35 tons of various agricultural crops monthly, including this month's crops of eggplant, peppers, cucumbers, broad beans, and okra, within an area of 9,000 square meters planted inside greenhouses and shaded areas."
Sadiq explained that "these efforts aim to supply local markets and support national products, contributing to enhancing self-sufficiency and reducing reliance on imports, in addition to providing fresh and safe products for consumers."
