For the first time, an open-heart surgery was conducted at the Al-Kafeel Hospital

The surgical team of the Al-Kafeel Specialized Hospital of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, under the supervision of the Iraqi doctor Ja'far Sadeq Shahadha, conducted an open-heart surgery on a patient of fifty years old, who was suffering from severe heart problems and the heart's valve has been replaced.
The doctor has decided to perform the open-heart surgery after that all other alternatives that might help the patient such as medicines did not work. The subject of the surgery was discussed with the patient frankly, and the surgeon has explained to her the difficulty, accuracy and the symptoms of this kind of surgeries, so the patient put her trust in God and agreed on conducting it.
The operation, which lasted about three hours and half, was accomplished successfully with all praise to god and with the blessings of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and the patient was discharged from the intensive care unit. Doctor Ja'far stated to Al-Kafeel Network that this kind of surgeries is considered a quantum leap in the methods of heart and chest surgeries in Al-Kafeel Specialized Hospital, which has become due to its specialized medical devices and equipment able to carry out such modern surgical techniques, as such kind of operations allows a specific medical care and reduces the staying time of the patient in the intensive care and also reduces the possible complications' percentage.
It is to mention that the Cardiac Surgery Division at Al-Kafeel Hospital has special surgeries' rooms equipped by such operations that require high precision and to be conducted by a highly qualified expert, as it is one of the most dangerous and the most difficult operations needing time and effort, and the patient needs after a convalescence period in order to begin recovering his health and wellness.
